Seniors National Championship, Deva 2010

Saturday, 24th of April 2010, the National Championship for Seniors took place in Deva. Our dojo was represented by 13 fighters and 2 referees, managing to win 9 medals: 1 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze, as well as a few placements in the top 5-8 fighters in various weight categories.
This year’s competition was a highly disputed one, with almost 200 participants. It was the first time that the Romanian Kyokushin Federation held a national championship in Deva. The competition’s organization was top notch and the crowd was rather numerous and enthusiastic. (more…)
“Branko Bosnjak” Cup, Croatia 2009

On november the 14th 2009 a romanian delegation of 9 sportsmen, two referees and the national team coach participated at the 14th edition of the “Branko Bosnjak” Cup in Samobor, Croatia. C.S. Kyospirit Cluj-Napoca was represented by Anda Pop(fighter) and sempai Vlad Pop(referee).
The tournament was a good way to see the progress made since last october at the Seniors National Championships. Anda took an honorable 3′rd place in the +65kg category. (more…)
Romanian Open, Oradea 2009

On october the 31st Kyosprit Cluj Napoca participated at the Romanian Open, a competition addressed to juniors and cadets, and also to the Seniors National Championship.
Our guys came back with very good results. In the juniors competition Mihai Cîmpean had a very strong fight against a more experienced fighter from Hungary, none other than the 2009 european champion from Kiev! Mihai began the first round very well, with strong and clear punches to the body and succeeding to physically dominate a heavier fighter. After two (more…)
