National Championships, Târgu-Mureș 2011



Dutch Open, Zutphen 2011


On the 12th of February 2011 the Romanian team competed in the Dutch Open, held at Zutphen. The competition was opened to everyone, regardless of their karate style. It lined up athletes from 8 countries(Holland, England, Norway, Belgium, Sweden, Czech Republic, Lithuania and Romania). The event’s organization was impeccable and the dutch public proved to be well-versed in the knowledge of martial arts, appreciating the technical merits of the fights regardless of who was on the tatami. Their fair-play was really impressive.

The Romanian team was comprised of 5 athletes and 2 international referees. C.S. Kyospirit Cluj-Napoca was represented by (more…)

National Summer Camp, Băile Felix 2010


On the 22-25th July 2010 the Romanian Kyokushin Federation National Summer Training Camp took place in Băile Felix (Bihor county). The coordinator of the camp was shihan Satoshi Yui(5 dan), who is a trainer at Honbu, Japan. Over 150 athletes from all over the country attended the camp, this year being a special occasion: 25 years of Kyokushin in Romania.

Like all summer camps with shihan Yui the training sessions were very demanding, leaving all of us with the inevitable muscle sores. The morning training was focused on (more…)

European Championships, Spain 2010


On 5-6th of June Logrono (Spain) hosted the Kyokushin European Championships for Juniors and Seniors.

The Romanian National Team came home with excellent results: 6 medals (one gold and five bronze), three other placements in top 8 at kumite and three placements in top 8 at kata.

C.S. Kyospirit Cluj-Napoca was represented by:  Mihai Cîmpian in the junior competition, Marius Mîndruțău in the senior competition and international referee sempai Vlad Pop. (more…)

National Team Training, Oradea 2010


The preparations for the European Championships in June are slowly coming to an end. This weekend, the fighters from C.S. Kyospirit, Mihai Cîmpian and Marius Mîndruțău, trained with the other members of the national team in Oradea.

The training sessions were specific to the kyokushin competition. All fighters proved they are in great shape and the national team coach, sensei Harris Wallmen, declared he is satisfied with everyone’s progress so far.
